With Recurring Schedule, you can schedule a poll to publish automatically on a repeating cadence (example, every Tuesday and Friday at 1:00 PM) and adjust or remove dates at any time.

Before Start

  • Create a poll and make sure it's set to draft before scheduling.

Schedule the poll

  1. In the poll editor, select the 'Edit'option.

2. Under Save, choose the drop-down arrow.

3. Choose a Custom Date and Time.

4. Click on the 'Set recurring schedule' option.

5. Set your repeat pattern:

  • Every X week(s) (example: every 1 week)

  • Choose the day(s) the poll should publish (M, T, W, TH, F, S, SU)

6. Choose when the recurring schedule ends:

  • On a specific end date, or

  • After a set number of occurrences

7. Click Schedule to confirm.

After scheduling, your poll is now set to publish automatically on the cadence you selected.

Edit scheduled polls (change dates, adjust cadence, or update the poll)

  1. Go to your course → Participation.

  2. Open the area where your scheduled polls appear (Scheduled/Upcoming list).

  3. Click the scheduled poll you want to change.

  4. Update what you need:

    • Edit the schedule to change the date/time, days of the week, frequency, or end date, then save/reschedule.

Delete scheduled dates (remove one day or stop the schedule)

You can remove scheduled publishing dates if you no longer want a poll to go out on a specific day.

  • Remove one scheduled date: Open the poll’s schedule view and delete the specific date/occurrence you don’t want to publish.

  • Edit the date inside the recurring schedule: Open the poll’s schedule settings and edit the publish date entirely.

Pro tips

Schedule recurring polls once, then edit only the dates you want to skip.

  • Use recurring schedules for weekly check-ins (attendance-style prompts, concept checks, exit tickets).

  • Set an end date that matches your syllabus timeline so polls stop automatically after the term/unit ends.

FAQs

  • Can I change the schedule after it’s set?
Yes. You can modify dates/times, change the repeat pattern, or remove specific occurrences at any time from the scheduled poll.

  • Can I delete just one occurrence without deleting the whole schedule?
Yes, delete the single scheduled date/occurrence you want to skip.

  • Will students see the poll before it publishes?
No. Scheduled polls remain unpublished until their scheduled publish time.
