When the WiFi signal on campus is weak, or you're having trouble accessing your CampusKnot app, you can still participate in class by sending an SMS/text message submission.

How does it work?

When your professor activates a poll question, each poll is assigned a unique 4-digit SMS code that is displayed on the projected screen and your mobile and web login.

How do I submit answers by SMS?

When creating an account inside CampusKnot, you must verify your account using your phone number. Once your account is verified, this is the number that can be used to submit responses via SMS.

💻 You can view your verification number on the web login by visiting your Profile > Account Settings section.

📲You can view your verification number on your mobile by visiting the More tab > Selecting your Profile.

Offline submissions will only work if a student is making submissions from a cell phone.

Once you've verified your number, you can click on the prompt inside the mobile app "Trouble submitting? tap here to text ..." section, and it'll redirect you to your SMS screen with the poll unique ID number and a "+" icon.

Example: The unique ID number for the poll below 👇 is 9I6K.

💡Important: For your submission to be valid, you cannot delete the unique poll ID and the '+' icon before typing your submission.

💡Important: As an added note, the plus sign and spaces between the SMS code and the submission choice are optional. You can include it or omit it; the option is yours.

How do I format my submission for the various content types?

The format for submitting answers via SMS will always be the same, the 4-digit code + your response. For example, let's say that the SMS code is 11K4. Here’s how you’ll format your SMS submission for each question type:- Multiple Choice (one selection): 11K4 + c- Multiple Choice (multiple selections): 11K4 + acd- Word Answer: 11K4 + apple- Numeric Answer: 11K4 + 2010

Does the 4-digit SMS code change?

Yes, every question will have a unique 4-digit ID. Please double-check your submission if you get error messages or if you don't receive a confirmation message from us. A confirmation message looks like this 👇 "Your response for Poll (unique ID) was successful!"

How much does this cost?

We don't charge any premium fees for texting, and the number will be local to your country. Depending on your plan with your provider, the text message could be free or it could cost a small amount. If you're not sure, please call your phone service provider to ask.

What type of phone do I need?

Any phone that is capable of sending text messages will be able to participate in submissions.
