If you want to encourage participation while saving time every class or week, schedule recurring prompts. Here are a few examples of recurring posts:

  • “What questions do you have from today’s reading?”

  • “What’s one concept you’re still unsure about?”

Questions like this create a consistent space for students to engage, reflect, and ask questions on a regular basis. Scheduling Feed discussion questions can also:

🎬 Support flipped learning

Post questions, discussion prompts, or short videos before class to spark thinking. Students arrive prepared, and you spend more time clarifying, not lecturing.

🧠 Encourage warm-up or exit ticket feedback

Schedule a post to appear just before class begins to guide early arrivals through a warm-up activity. Or, post an exit question five minutes before class ends to assess understanding or gather feedback quickly.

Steps to Schedule Feed Posts

Even if a post wasn't set up as a "Point Post" originally, you can edit it later to assign points or give extra credit.

  1. Select the drop-down arrow next to the 'Post' option.

  2. A pop-up with two options will come up.

  • You can schedule content to go out the day after at 9:00 am

  • Or you can schedule content to go out on a different day and time

3. Once you've selected a day and time, click on 'Schedule Post'.

4. To view, edit, or publish scheduled posts, click on the 'See all scheduled posts' option located below your post box.

💡Important: After scheduling a post, you'll be able to 'post now' or 'edit post' before the post is available to your course members.

5. If you'd like to schedule a post across multiple sections, follow these steps.

Best Practices & Tips

  • Plan Ahead: Use scheduling to organize posts for the week or entire course in advance.

  • Use Tags Strategically: Combine default tags (mandatory) with one optional custom tag to help categorize and streamline searches inside Feeds.

  • Manage Posting Permissions: Turn off student posting privileges during class to prevent information overload and keep the Feed focused.

  • Retroactive Points (Optional): You can later turn a published post into a Point post or assign extra credit retroactively by editing it and selecting the point option.
