📆 Understanding Tracks
On the Job Schedule (Day View), each column is called a Track. A track typically represents a crew, truck, or team working together for the day.
✅ Default Tracks
Your default track setup (like "Truck 1", "Crew A", etc.) can be customized for your business. Need changes? Just message our support team, and we’ll update your defaults for you.
➕ Custom Tracks (One-Offs -- learn more here)
You can also add custom tracks—perfect for temporary setups like:
A last-minute rental truck
A one-off extra crew
Overflow situations on busy days
Just click Add Track on the schedule to create one. You can delete tracks from the day if you no longer need them.
👥 Two Key Ways to Assign Movers
There are two ways to assign movers to jobs in Chariot. On a given day, a mover is either assigned at the Track-Level or the individual Job-Level.
1. Track-Level Assignment (Full-Day Crew)
Assigning a mover to a track means they’ll be automatically assigned to all jobs in that track for the day. In most cases, this is how you should be assigning movers to your jobs, as this will be the most efficient and save you time.
A few things to note:
You cannot assign movers to individual jobs if they’re already assigned on a track.
This is ideal for a crew working together the entire day.
How to Assign:
Option A – Drag & Drop
From the Dispatch tab on the left, drag a mover or truck onto a track.
They’ll be assigned to all jobs in that track.
Option B – Click to Assign
Click the person+plus icon at the top of a track.
Select the movers you want to assign to the whole track.
How to Remove:
Click on a mover’s initials (located in the circle) to remove them individually, then click "Remove".
Or click the three dots at the top of the track → Remove All Movers.
2. Job-Level Assignment (Partial-Day or Cross-Crew)
You'll use this method if you need more flexibility on who works where, without being tied to a track or truck.
You cannot assign these movers to a full track—they’re considered “job-specific.”
Ideal for:
Movers only working a morning or afternoon job
Jumping between crews (e.g., helping another crew with an unload)
How to Assign:
Click on an individual job card.
Click Assign Movers.
Choose who you want for that job.
Job-level movers show with a red outline around their name, so you know they’re assigned individually.
To remove:
Click on their name inside the job and hit Remove.
✨ Customizing Mover Roles per Job
Movers can have default roles (e.g., “Crew Leader”), but you can override their role for a specific job.
Click on the mover’s name in the job.
Choose a new role (e.g., Driver).
Useful if roles affect pay rates or reports.
📣 Notifying Movers
Once assignments are done:
Click Notify Crews in the top right.
Movers will receive a text message letting them know they’ve been scheduled.
They can also log into their Chariot crew schedule at any time to see assignments.
