Getting Started with a Chexy Business Account

How to set up a small business account on Chexy, what documents you need, and options for complex business needs.

How can I get the benefits of a small business account?

Log in, open Settings then My details, verify your business, and you will get access to small business features right away.

How to upgrade your account

  1. Sign in to your Chexy account

  2. Go to Settings then My details

  3. Find Small business account and choose Set up now

  4. You will be asked to enter information about your business

After that you will instantly get access to small business features, such as the ability to pay CRA business taxes through Pre-Authorized Debit — and more features coming soon!

What do I need to provide to prove that I am a small business?

You will need:

  • Business registration number

  • Articles of Incorporation if your business is incorporated

Why we ask

Financial regulations require us to verify business customers. This helps prevent fraud and money laundering and keeps the payments system safe. We only use these documents to confirm your business identity and we store them securely.

What we accept

Incorporated businesses

  • Articles of Incorporation or a Certificate of Incorporation

  • A corporate profile or registry extract that shows the corporation number

Unincorporated businesses

  • A business name registration that shows your business name and registration number

Sole proprietors

  • In the "Business name" field enter your personal name or business name you operate under. You will not need to upload any documentation.

Submission guidelines

  • Upload a document in PDF format. Word, images or other formats are not accepted.
