Paying Provincial Corporate Taxes via PAD or Bill Pay

Paying Provincial Corporate Taxes via PAD or Bill Pay

Updated this week

You can pay provincial corporate taxes through Chexy if the tax authority supports PAD or appears in the Bill Pay network.

Option A — PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit)

If the tax authority accepts PAD:

  1. Create a Chexy subscription for the tax authority

  2. Download your Chexy void cheque

  3. Submit Chexy banking details directly to the tax authority

    • Instructions are typically available on the tax authority’s website

    • Try searching: [Tax Authority Name] PAD payment details

  4. When they submit the withdrawal request, Chexy will process it

Important PAD Handling Rules

If the PAD is slightly higher than your subscription amount:

  • We automatically cover the full amount

  • Your card will be auto-charged for the difference

If the PAD is lower than your subscription amount:

  • You will receive a refund notification for the surplus

  • Surplus funds can be redeemed or refunded through self-serve

If the PAD is submitted earlier than expected:

  • We will cover it

  • The payment will still be processed to the tax authority

Your tax authority will always be paid in full and on time unless a deficit charge is not approved.

Option B — Bill Pay

If the tax authority appears in the Bill Pay recipient list:

  1. Search for the exact recipient name

  2. Enter your corporate tax account number exactly as required

  3. Complete the payment

If You Cannot Find the Tax Authority

Bill Pay recipients are determined by the banking network.

If the tax authority does not appear:

  • Chexy cannot manually add them

  • The payment must be made outside Chexy

Important Notes

  • One PAD withdrawal = one Chexy subscription

  • Always confirm account number format directly with the tax authority

  • Bill payments are non-refundable

  • Once sent, they cannot be reversed or clawed back
