A rider arrived late — can they still join the class?

Yes — a late rider can join any time; missed intervals just don't count towards their COL%.

Yes — they can join at any time. The class continues for them from the moment they connect.

What happens for a late rider

  • The rider opens the CicloZone app, enters the studio code, connects their bike, and joins.

  • They appear on the leaderboard if they've opted in.

  • The intervals they missed before joining count as missed intervals in their post-ride analytics.

That's the trade-off: they can ride, but those early intervals don't contribute to their COL% (CicloZone Output Level).

For instructors — postponing a Free Style start

If you're running a Free Style class and you can see riders still connecting, you can postpone the start by up to 5 minutes to give everyone time to set up.

On your own device, before the class starts:

  1. Tap Bikes to see who's already connected.

  2. Tap the delay button to push back the start.

  3. The countdown timer extends so the class kicks off at the new time.

This only works before the class begins — once it's running, intervals roll on the original timeline. See "How do I use the Trainer Dials in class?" for the full walkthrough of your in-class controls.

Tip: Express Studio Ride for very-late drop-ins

A rider who didn't have time to register can use Express Studio Ride to join in seconds without creating an account. Bear in mind an Express ride is saved locally on their phone only — it isn't attached to a CicloZone account. See "What is Express Studio Ride?"
