Follow along with the above video to learn about the Basic Info section of creating a campaign.

To begin, select the Add button to the right of the title “Campaigns." This is located in the Campaigns Sub-Tab under the Donations Tab within the platform.

You will be taken to a screen that shows you the first of six steps to creating a donation campaign. The first step is to choose the Target Audience for your campaign. This will decide who will be presented the opportunity to donate. You have four options:

  • Everyone

  • New Donors

  • Exiting Donors

  • Recommended by Civic Champs

Note: As none of the volunteers have donated through Civic Champs before, we recommend selecting the "Everyone" option for your first campaigns so as many volunteers as possible can be asked.

After you select the Target Audience, click "Next" to move on to Basic Info. You will be taken to the following (albeit blank) page:

As you can see, I have already put in some of the basic information for the event. These include:

  • Campaign Name: The title of your campaign

  • Campaign Start/End Date: This is the start and end date for your campaign that decides how long your volunteers will see the prompts.

    • In this example, I made the campaign start on September 1, 2021 and end on November 1, 2021 as it is a Fall Campaign.

  • Campaign Type: Dollars per hours

  • Time Matching: This is the amount that volunteers will be prompted to donate per hour.

    • Also indicate here the minimum amount you would like your volunteers to contribute.

  • Affiliated Opportunities: These are all of the different events or opportunities that are active where you can attach the campaign for the volunteer to be prompted to donate during their check-out process. You can affiliate the campaign with as many events as you would like.

Once you've finished inputting your basic info, click "Next" to continue to the Thank you Prompt.

Thank You Prompt

Follow along with the above video to learn about the Thank you Prompt section of creating a campaign.

After clicking "Next" on the Basic Info section, you will be taken to the (albeit blank) Thank You Prompt page:

Here, enter the header of the Thank You Prompt your volunteers will see during their check-out process. The header I have entered is "Thank you!' The preview beside it will show what the prompts will look like on a volunteer's device.

Afterward, use the text box located directly below the header box to create a thoughtful and meaningful thank you message for your volunteers. It is important to recognize the value of the volunteer's time that they've spent with you.

  • In my example, I used "We hope you enjoyed your time today. The time and energy you put in for Civic Champs allows us to do so much more for those we support."

After your thank you message, you need to pick an image to place in between prompts for your volunteers to see. This imagine can represent to your mission, the current project, or any existing campaign materials that you may have.

To choose a picture, click the yellow "Add Image" or "Change" button and you will prompted to either add or upload an image.

To upload an image: Click the "Upload" button and you will be prompted to choose an image already existing on your desktop.

To add an image: Make sure that you have the checkbox to the left of the image name selected, and then hit the "Add" button and you should see the change on the preview to the right.

After you have selected the photo, you now need to create a message encouraging your volunteers to find other ways to support your organization and its mission.

  • In this example, I used "We hope you can join us again. If you would like to learn more about other ways you can help Civic Champs click the Tell Me More button below."

Next, you will need to decide what you would like the button prompting them to learn more should say.

  • In this example, I used "Tell Me More."

Once all information is entered for your prompt, click "Next" to move to the next step.

Donate Prompt

Follow along with the above video to learn about the Donate Prompt section of creating a campaign.

Moving on from the "Thank You Prompt" will bring you to the "Donate Prompt" section. This is where you actually ask your volunteers for their donations. You will be brought to this (albeit blank) page:

First, enter the header of the Donate Prompt your volunteers will see when the screen appears. The header I have entered is "The Challenge." The preview to the right will show you what the prompts will look like on a volunteer's device.

Next, use the text box located directly below the header box to create a donation ask message for your volunteers. In this message you can emphasize how much valuable their time is, give information about the campaign, and/or encourage the volunteers to click the "Donate" button.

  • In my example, I used "If every volunteer matched $1 for each hour volunteered, we could provide meals to 2,000 more families. If you would like contribute, please click the Donate button below to learn more. "

After the donation ask, you will need to pick an image to place above the "Donate" button for your volunteers to see. Once again, this image can represent your mission, the current project, or any existing campaign materials that you may have.

Once all information is entered for your prompt, click "Next" to move onto the Frequency Section.

Frequency

Follow along with the above video to learn about the Frequency section of creating a campaign.

The Frequency section entails how your volunteers are going to see the donation prompts based on your target audience. To the right, you can also see a full summary of all the information we've entered thus far, including all of the opportunities where volunteers will be asked to donate.

Viewing Advanced Settings

If you would like to view the advanced settings behind the frequency, click the "Advanced Settings" link and a screen like this will appear:

You will be asked three questions:

  1. How often would you like to ask volunteers for a donation?

  2. Who would you like us to ask at the end of their shift?

  3. How many times should a single volunteer be asked?

The answers to these questions will then affect who and how often your volunteers are being asked to donate.

Once you've answered all of the questions, you can click the "Save" button. From there, you can then click the "Next" Button to go to the final Review section.

Review

Follow along with the above video to learn about the Review section of creating a campaign.

Once all sections are created, you will want to thoroughly review all of the information.

If everything is correct, select the Publish button. To edit any of the information, click the Back button.

If Once you hit "Publish," a box will appear letting you know that your campaign is complete! You can now start accepting donations from your volunteers.
