Managing Your Calendar in ClassCover

A Guide for Casual Teachers and Casual Non-Teaching Staff

Your calendar is one of the most important tools on ClassCover. Keeping it updated not only helps schools know when you’re available but also increases your chances of being booked. An accurate calendar means schools are more likely to send you booking requests, knowing you’re ready to work.

View and Navigate Your Calendar

Once you’ve logged into your ClassCover profile, navigate to the 'Calendar' tab. Here, you can:

  • View all upcoming bookings and availability.

  • See which dates you have marked as available or unavailable.

  • Track past bookings and scheduled shifts.

Understanding Your Calendar Availability Options

When updating your calendar, you can select from several availability options:

  • Available – Full Day: You’re available for the entire day.

  • Available – AM: You’re only available for morning bookings.

  • Available – PM: You’re only available for afternoon bookings.

  • Booked Externally: You’re working elsewhere that day (not via ClassCover), letting schools know you’re unavailable.

  • Unavailable: You’re not available at all on this day.

  • Hasn't Indicated: You have not yet indicated your availability on this day.

💡 Tip: Selecting half-day options (AM or PM) is perfect if you have commitments in the other part of the day but are still open to work.

Update Your Availability

Keeping your availability up-to-date is essential to ensuring you receive booking invites. Here’s how to update your availability on ClassCover:

Desktop Version:

  1. Log in to your ClassCover profile.

  2. Go to the ‘My Calendar’ tab.

  3. Select the date(s) you want to update.

  4. Choose your availability status (Full Day, Half Day AM, Half Day PM, Booked Externally, or Unavailable).

  5. Click Save to confirm.

Mobile App Version:

  1. Open the ClassCover app on your device.

  2. Tap the ‘Calendar’ tab on the bottom menu.

  3. Select the date(s) you want to update.

  4. Choose your availability – Full Day, Half Day AM, Half Day PM, Booked Externally, or Unavailable.

  5. Tap Save to confirm your changes.

Why Keeping Your Calendar Updated Matters

Schools check your calendar when sending booking requests. If your availability isn’t accurate, schools may skip over you in favour of someone who appears to be free. Keeping it current ensures you won’t miss out on work opportunities.

Need to Update Regular Patterns?

If you have a recurring schedule – like always being available Mondays and Wednesdays – you don’t need to update each day manually. Use the Recurring Availability Updater to quickly apply your availability to multiple dates at once.

Troubleshooting Calendar Issues

If you're having trouble with your calendar, such as changes not appearing or issues with availability settings, try the following:

  1. Ensure you’re logged in to the correct profile.

  2. Refresh the page or restart the app.

  3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies if you're using the desktop version.

  4. If problems persist, contact ClassCover Support for assistance.
