Welcome to ClassCover! Whether you're a casual relief teacher or non-teaching staff, this guide will help you set up your profile, connect with schools, and secure bookings efficiently.

Why Join ClassCover?

ClassCover is Australia’s leading booking platform connecting casual relief teachers with thousands of schools.

Whether you're just starting out as a casual or looking for more flexibility, ClassCover makes it easy to get discovered, manage your availability, apply for jobs, and access professional development – all in one place.

By creating a ClassCover profile, you open the door to:

  • Direct bookings from schools in your area

  • Access to our education-only jobs platform: ClassCover Jobs

  • Unlimited online PD with a ClassCover Learn membership

  • Tools to boost your visibility and get booked more often

1. Create and Complete Your ClassCover Profile

Your profile is your first impression with schools. Ensure it's complete and up-to-date:

  • Personal Information: Add your contact details and teaching levels.

  • Qualifications: List your degrees, certifications, and relevant training.

  • Work Experience: Detail your previous teaching roles and responsibilities.

  • Skills: Highlight specialisations, languages, or extracurricular expertise.

  • Supporting Documents: Upload your CV, certificates, and any other relevant documents.

A complete profile increases your visibility and chances of being booked.

2. Update Your Availability

Keeping your availability up to date helps schools know when you’re ready to work and avoids missed opportunities.

  • On Desktop: Navigate to the ‘My Calendar’ tab, select dates, and set your availability status.

  • On Mobile App: Tap on the ‘Calendar’ tab, choose dates, and update your status accordingly.

For a more detailed guide, refer to our article on Keeping Your Availability Updated on ClassCover.

Pro Tip: Avoid leaving dates as “Hasn't Indicated” – schools may not include you on booking requests if they don’t know you’re available.

3. Connect with Schools

To receive bookings, you need to be on a school's list:

  • Find New Schools: Search for schools in your area and request to join their list.

  • Direct Invitations: Schools can also add you to their list directly.

Proactively connecting with schools creates a great first impression and increases your chances of getting booked.

4. Respond to Booking Requests Promptly

It’s important to respond to all booking requests, even if you're busy. Ignoring requests can leave a negative impression and may cause schools to remove you from their list.

How ClassCover Sends Booking Requests

  1. Push Notification: Sent first via the ClassCover app.

  2. Email: As a backup, you will receive all booking request notifications via email.

  3. SMS: Users can choose to receive an SMS notification either alongside a Push Notification or as a replacement for it.

You can update your notification preferences at any time in settings.

5. Enable Notifications

Stay informed by enabling notifications:

6. Download the ClassCover App

Manage your profile on the go:

  • Features: Update availability, respond to bookings, and connect with schools directly from the app.

  • Accessibility: Available on both iOS and Android platforms.

You can download the most recent version of the ClassCover app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store.

Once downloaded, log into your ClassCover profile through the app to ensure you're always connected and ready for opportunities.

Familiarise yourself with how bookings work:

  • Booking Types: Regular, Flexi, and Pre-confirmed bookings.

  • Notifications: How and when you'll be notified.

  • Confirmation: Steps to confirm and prepare for your bookings.
