Whether your school is new to ClassCover or looking to expand your existing pool of casual staff, turning on Receive Teacher Requests is one of the quickest ways to get started. This feature allows local casuals on the platform to find your school and request to join your list – giving you access to pre-qualified educators who are actively looking for work.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or just looking to top up your current list, enabling this feature helps ensure you always have reliable coverage on hand when you need it.
Why Enable 'Receive Teacher Requests'?
Building a strong casual list takes time – but ClassCover makes it easier. Turning on this feature helps you:
Save time: Let casuals come to you, rather than manually searching for and inviting every teacher.
Grow your casual pool: Access a broader range of qualified, local educators who are actively looking for work.
Maintain daily coverage: Ensure you're not caught short by keeping your list active and well-rounded.
Receive relevant requests only: You'll only get requests from casuals who match your school’s criteria (subject, role type, location, etc.).
This feature is ideal for schools just starting out on ClassCover or looking to expand their existing list.
How to Enable the 'Receive Teacher Requests' Feature
Step 1: Turn on the Feature
To start receiving requests from casuals:
Log in to ClassCover.
Click your School Name (top-right).
Go to your School Profile.
Toggle Receive Teacher Requests to ON.
Once enabled, your school will appear in the Find New tab for relevant casuals in your area.
Step 2: Check the Requests Page Regularly
Go to the Requests tab from your left-hand menu to view new and pending requests. You can:
View profiles including availability, qualifications, subjects, and more.
Filter by role type, subject, level, and name to narrow down options.
Accept to instantly add the casual to your list.
Decline requests if they’re not the right fit (casuals won’t be notified).
Message casuals if you need more info before deciding.
Block or Remove any unwanted requests (again, without notifying the teacher).
📌 We recommend checking this page a few times a week, especially during peak periods. You’ll also receive notifications via email and the app for every new request.
How to Manage Requests Efficiently
Make the most of this feature by using it as part of your regular workflow. Here’s how:
Assign someone in your admin team to check and respond to requests weekly.
Use filters to prioritise casuals who match your school’s current needs.
Pre-qualify applicants before accepting – check for completed profiles and required documents.
Respond promptly – active casuals appreciate quick replies and are more likely to stay available for future work.
Explore Profiles Using 'Find New'
Want to take things further? You can also search for and invite casuals manually using the Find New feature. This lets you:
Browse a filtered list of available casuals in your region.
View full profiles and add them directly to your list.
Build a list tailored to your school’s specific needs.
💡 Combining Find New with incoming requests gives you a strong, proactive + responsive hiring strategy.
🎯 Final Tips
Use both Receive Teacher Requests and Find New to build a strong, flexible casual pool.
Make sure your school profile is up to date – a well-presented school encourages more casuals to request to join.
Turn on push notifications and email summaries to stay on top of new requests.
