Removing or suspending a casual from your school’s list in ClassCover is a straightforward process. Whether you need to temporarily suspend a casual or permanently remove them, this guide will walk you through the steps. Keep in mind that casuals will not be notified when they are removed or suspended from your school’s profile.
Before you take action, it’s important to understand how removing and suspending a casual affects their connection to your school:
Remove from List: This option takes the casual off your school's list, but they can still be re-added later. Either you can invite them back, or they can request to join your list again at any time.
Suspend: This option hides the casual from booking requests and prevents them from being re-invited by other staff at your school. Suspended casuals also cannot request to join your school’s list themselves. However, you can undo a suspension at any time if you wish to reactivate them.
Steps to Remove or Suspend a Casual (On Desktop)
Navigate to 'My List'
Go to the ‘My List’ section of your ClassCover Account, where you can view all the casuals currently associated with your school.
Locate the Casual's Profile
Find the casual you wish to remove or suspend. Use the search feature to quickly locate their profile if needed.
Choose the Removal or Suspension Option
Click on the cog icon next to the casual's profile to see the options.
Remove from List: This option removes the casual from your school’s list. Once removed, you will need to re-invite the casual to add them back.
Suspend: This option suspends and hides the casual from your list and booking requests. They will remain inactive until you choose to reactivate their profile. This option gives the casual a grey star.
Other option available:
Mark with Black Stars: Casuals with black stars are suspended from bookings and will not appear in booking requests or the pre-confirmed page. This option acts the same as grey stars under suspension but lets other users in your school know not to rebook or engage the casual in the future. This option is useful if you do not want the casual to be re-added by another user at your school and want a clear definition. You might use this for casuals who are permanently unavailable or if you wish to permanently remove a casual from your school’s list and you want to restrict them being readded. Confirmation
After selecting your preferred option (Remove, Suspend, or Black Stars), the casual will be immediately removed or suspended from your school’s profile.
Steps to Remove or Suspend a Casual (App Version)
Go to 'My List'
Open the ‘My List’ section on the ClassCover app.
Select the Casual's Profile
Go to the casual’s profile that you wish to remove.
Tap ‘Remove’
Tap the ‘Remove’ option to remove the casual from your list.
Important Note:
There is no option to suspend a casual from the mobile app. Only the web version allows you to suspend a casual temporarily.
Important Notes:
The Casual is Not Notified:
Casuals will not receive a notification if they are removed, suspended, or marked with black stars from your school’s profile.
Re-Invitation:
If you permanently remove a casual, you will need to re-invite them if you want to add them back to your school’s list.
Temporary Suspension:
Use the Suspend option if you want to remove a casual temporarily. You can easily reactivate them later when needed.
Black Stars:
Casuals with Black Stars are removed from your available pool and will not appear in booking requests or the pre-confirmed page. This is useful when you want to ensure that a casual cannot be re-added by another user at your school and want to define clearly that this casual is not to be rebooked or re-engaged. You can always reactivate them in the future too.
