Schools in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (CDMN) will now see a green or orange tick next to each casual staff member on ClassCover. This update helps clearly distinguish between verified teachers and those in non-teaching roles, streamlining the booking process.

What the Ticks Indicate

Picture

  • Green Tick: The staff member is verified by CDMN Head Office as a casual teacher.

  • Orange Tick: The staff member is verified by CDMN Head Office as a non-teaching casual, such as a Teaching Assistant or SLSO.

Note: Verification ticks are only visible to schools. Casual staff will not see the tick displayed on their own profile.

Important: Because casual’s set their own role type in ClassCover, some users may have the role type of “Teacher” without the verification tick on their profile. Because the verification tick reflects the role designation made by CDMN Head Office, this is the best way to tell if a casual is in a teaching or non-teaching role.

Why This Update Is Important

Previously, schools relied on the role listed on a casual’s ClassCover profile, which could sometimes be inaccurate or not up to date with current qualifications. For example, someone listed as a "Teacher" might actually be working as a non-teaching support staff member. The new verification tick system reduces this confusion and helps schools confidently book the right person for the role.

Troubleshooting Tip

If you do not see the green or orange ticks or the display seems incorrect:

  • Clear your browser cache.

  • Refresh the page.
