If you're not receiving push notifications on your Android device, the issue could be related to your device settings, network connection, or the app itself. Follow these key checks to resolve the problem:
Key Points to Check:
1. Enable Notifications for ClassCover
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Select ClassCover > Notifications.
Ensure notifications are turned ON, and check if specific notification types (such as sounds, banners, or lights) are enabled.
2. Check Do Not Disturb Mode
Make sure the Do Not Disturb mode is not active, as it can block notifications from appearing.
How to Disable Do Not Disturb:
Swipe down from the top of your screen to access the Quick Settings menu.
Tap the Do Not Disturb icon to turn it off.
3. Confirm Network Connection
A stable internet connection is essential for receiving notifications from ClassCover.
Tips:
Check Wi-Fi or Mobile Data: Make sure your device is connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network or has a strong mobile data signal. If the current network is unstable, switch to a different Wi-Fi network or mobile data.
Test the Connection: Open a web browser or another app that uses the internet to verify your connection is active.
Turn Airplane Mode On/Off: Enable Airplane Mode for a few seconds and then disable it to refresh your network settings.
4. Update ClassCover App and Android OS
Keeping your ClassCover app and Android operating system up to date ensures optimal performance.
Update ClassCover App:
Open the Google Play Store.
Search for ClassCover.
Tap Update if available.
Update Android OS:
Go to Settings > System > Software Update.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install any available updates.
5. Check Your ClassCover App Settings
Check the app’s settings to see if any notification preferences are blocking push notifications.
In the ClassCover app, on the top right hand corner of your screen, open the Menu icon and select Account & Settings.
For Bookings:
Tap Booking Notifications, then Push Notifications, and make sure the toggle is switched ON.
For Jobs:
Tap Job Alerts, then make sure the toggle is switched ON for Job Alert Push Notifications.
6. Limit to One Device
If you're logged into ClassCover on multiple devices, push notifications may potentially only be sent to the most recently active device.
Recommendation:
Log out of ClassCover on secondary devices.
Use ClassCover primarily on one device to ensure consistent notifications.
