Need to retry an unfilled booking or quickly recreate a regular booking? ClassCover’s Reopen and Clone Booking features are built to help schools streamline the booking process and reduce admin time. Whether you’re looking to resend a booking request that didn’t get filled or duplicate a previous booking with the same details and preferred casuals, these tools let you reuse existing booking information in just a few clicks – no need to start from scratch.
Reopen a Booking
If a booking request goes unfilled but the booking date hasn’t passed, you can reopen it and make any necessary changes.
Go to Booking History
Navigate to Booking History on ClassCover and locate the booking you wish to reopen.
Click on ‘Reopen Booking’
If the booking's start time is still in the future, you’ll be able to reopen the same booking and use it to fill any unfilled slots.
Autofill the Details
Clicking Reopen Booking will automatically fill in the details from the previous booking, including the casuals you shortlisted.
Add More Casuals if Needed
You can add more casuals to widen the pool for the new booking.
Refine the Invite Details
On the right side of your screen, you’ll see the Invite List. Here, you can adjust:
Request Type: Choose whether to send the requests individually (in order of preference) with a set time between each request or send them all at once.
Close Booking After: Set how long the booking request stays open before it automatically closes.
Send to Emergency List: If you don’t get any responses to your initial request, you can choose to have the request automatically sent to your emergency list up to 30 minutes after the original booking closes.
Review and Finalise the Request
Double-check all the booking details, including the casual’s availability, the dates, and class information. This ensures everything is correct before you send the request.
If nothing needs to be changed and you’re ready, click Send Invite to send the booking request.
Clone a Booking
If the booking’s start time has passed, you can’t reopen it, but you can clone it with the same details to create a new booking request.
Find the Booking
Go to Booking History and locate the booking you want to clone.
Click on ‘Clone Booking’
If the booking date has already passed, you’ll see the Clone Booking option instead of Reopen.
Auto-fill the Details
Clicking Clone Booking will automatically fill in the details from the previous booking, including the casuals you shortlisted.
Change the Date
You will need to change the date to reflect the new booking date as the details will automatically reflect the cloned booking.
Review Booking Details
Check the following details are correct as per your new booking:
Date(s) for the booking
Number of casuals required
Time period
Role type
Smart group (if required)
Teacher(s) being covered
Class(es) being covered
Absence reason
Add More Casuals if Needed
You can add more casuals to widen the pool for the new booking.

Close Booking After: Set how long the booking request stays open before it automatically closes.
Delay Send: Select a specific time and day in the future for the booking request to be sent.
Send to Emergency List: If you don’t get any responses to your initial request, you can choose to have the request automatically sent to your emergency list once the original booking closes.
Review and Finalise the Request
Double-check all the booking details, including the casual’s availability, the dates, and class information. This ensures everything is correct before you send the request.
If nothing needs to be changed and you’re ready, click Send Invite to send the booking request now or at the scheduled time later.
Clone vs. Reopen Based on Booking Start Time
If the booking date is in the future, you can Reopen the same booking and opt to add more casuals to fulfill the booking.
If the booking date is in the past, you cannot reopen it, but you can Clone the booking details into a new booking.
Using Reopen and Clone on the Mobile App
You can also perform these actions on the mobile app. Simply tap on the Request History tab and find the booking you wish to clone or reopen.
