This article shows you how to build a policy - a reusable set of rules - so your team applies the same moderation standard across runs and automations.
When to use this
Create a policy once you know which rules belong together for a certain kind of content: for example, everything a product image must pass before it goes live.
Before you start
Create the rules you want to include (see "Create a rule"). Only active rules can be added to a policy.
Decide whether this policy is for images or videos - a policy covers one asset type.
Tip: Keep policies focused. A tight, well-named policy ("Product images - EU market") is easier to trust and reuse than one giant catch-all.
Steps
Go to Policies and select Create Policy.
In the Create a New Policy dialog, choose Start from Scratch to build your own - or pick a ready-made template.
Selecting a template opens a panel with its description and the rules it includes; select Use this Template to copy it into your policies, then adjust it like any other policy. (Templates that include Pro rules your account doesn't have will point you to upgrade instead.)Fill in the Policy Details:
Name - for example, "Ecommerce product images." Policy names must be unique.
Description - for example, "Checks product images for quality, background, logos, and text."
Asset type - Images or Videos. A policy can include rules for one asset type only. If you switch later, rules that don't support the new type are removed (the app warns you first).
In Add Rules, build the rule list:
Browse the rule library on the left. Filter by category, or search by name.
Drag rules into the policy area on the right, or select the + button on a rule card.
Remove a rule with the × on its card.
If a rule you expect to see isn't in the library, check that it's Active and that it supports the policy's asset type.
Click Save Policy.
What happens next
The policy appears on the Policies page, showing its asset type, how many rules it contains (hover to see their names), and when it was last updated.
You can now select it when running one-time moderation or setting up an automation.
You can also grow it from the Rules page: select one or more rules there and use Add to policy.
The order of rules doesn't affect the outcome - an asset must pass all of them regardless.
