Unlimited Ongoing Memberships vs Class Passes

Use this article to figure out whether you should set up your membership as an unlimited, recurring plan OR as a class pass!

Updated over a week ago

Clubworx offers you a wide variety of ways to set up your membership plans for your members.

Its important that you set these plans up correctly so that your members have access to the classes they need, and so that you can track your classes and income for your business!

So, how do you choose how to set up a membership?

Unlimited Ongoing Memberships

To set up a membership plan that does not expire, a recurring payment membership is your best bet!

This will work best if you would like to have a member pay a regular, ongoing amount for a plan that will not expire.

Example

For example - let's create a membership plan that gives our members unlimited classes for $30 per week, which they can use anytime. There are no types of classes excluded under this plan. This plan will not have a set expiry date.

  1. Head into Settings > Membership Plans to get started:

2. From there, name your membership plan and set up the recurring payment amount, as well as your expiry date. We can leave the expiry date blank in this case.

3. Next, complete your class access restriction settings. In this case, because we want people using this plan to be able to access any classes they like, we can leave this section blank:

4. Then, tick the boxes for where you would like this membership to be available for purchase, and add in any information about your failure fees:

5. Under "Advanced Options", you will be able to adjust the settings for your default start date, as well as choose when your recurring payments will start:

Save & Activate - that's your unlimited membership created!

Class Pass Memberships

Memberships that give your members a finite number of classes are best set up as a once off membership with an expiry date.

Example

For example - let's create a membership that gives our members access to 3 classes - a "3 CLASS PASS". This membership will grant our members 3 classes or seminars for the upfront cost of $125, that they can use anytime.

  1. Head into Settings > Membership Plans to get started

  2. Name your plan, and then select your UPFRONT payment amount:

3. This membership will automatically expire when the three classes have been used, an there are no recurring payments, so we can leave the expiry date blank.

We also need to make sure they can only access class and seminar class types, so we need to tick those from the list below:

4. Complete the sections for Availability and Payment Settings:

5. Check your Advanced Options for settings around your membership start dates - in this case, there is no need to change anything about our recurring payment start date, as there are no recurring payments:

Save & Activate - that's our 3 CLASS PASS done!
