Adding Your First Clients: Simplified Add Client and Invite Preview

New coaches on free trial see a simplified Add Client modal and can preview the exact invitation email a client will receive before sending. Learn how the simplified flow works and how to unlock advanced options.

Updated this week

When you are a new coach on CoachRx, adding your first clients should feel fast and confidence-building. We have streamlined the Add Client flow for coaches on free trial with fewer than three clients, and you can now preview the exact invitation email your client will receive before sending it.

The simplified Add Client modal

If you are on a free trial and have fewer than three clients, the Add Client modal shows only the essentials:

  • Client first name

  • Client last name

  • Client email

  • A single Send Invite button

Advanced options (intake form assignment, coach role, autonomy settings, custom invite copy) are hidden behind an Advanced Options toggle. Click it whenever you are ready to use more of what CoachRx offers.

Preview the invitation email before sending

Before you click Send Invite, click the Preview Invitation link inside the Add Client modal. A panel slides in showing exactly what your client will receive:

  • Subject line

  • Your coach name and avatar

  • Instructions for your client to create their account

  • The mobile app download links

This is the same email your client will open in their inbox, so what you see is what they see.

What your client sees

  1. Your client receives the invitation email.

  2. They click the accept link.

  3. They set a password or choose Continue with Google to skip password creation.

  4. They download the CoachRx mobile app and log in.

  5. They are connected to you as their coach.

Unlocking advanced options

Once you are comfortable with the basics, click Advanced Options in the Add Client modal to:

  • Assign an intake form (or skip it entirely)

  • Set client autonomy levels

  • Choose which coach on your team owns the client

  • Customize the invitation copy

When does the simplified modal go away

Once you have three or more active clients, or once you upgrade off the free trial, CoachRx defaults to the full Add Client modal with all options visible. You can always adjust what shows in your Coach Settings.
