Coach As Client: Using CoachRx for Your Own Training Without Being Billed
Many CoachRx coaches use the platform to program for themselves - tracking their own training, lifestyle, and assessments alongside their client work. Previously, that "self" client counted toward your billable client total. We've updated the billing logic so a coach acting as their own client is no longer charged a client seat for that profile.
Who Qualifies
A profile is treated as "coach as client" (and excluded from billable client count) when:
The client profile is linked to the same email address as a coach seat in your organization, or
The client profile is explicitly flagged as Self from your client roster.
How to Flag Your Own Client Profile
Go to Clients in the CoachRx web app.
Open your own client profile (the one where you assign yourself programs).
Click Edit Profile.
Under Profile Type, set the profile to Self.
Save.
Your next billing cycle will reflect the reduced count. If you've already been charged for a self-client, message support and we'll prorate the next invoice.

Multi-Coach Organizations
In a multi-coach org, every active coach seat is eligible for one self-client at no extra cost. If you have 4 coaches, you can have 4 self-clients (one per coach) and none of them count against your paid client tier.
"I'm Already Being Charged for Myself"
If you've been on CoachRx for a while and your own profile predates the new logic:
Flag the profile as Self (see above).
Wait one billing cycle - the self profile will no longer be counted.
If you want a credit for prior billing periods, message support with your CoachRx email and the dates you'd like reviewed. Credits are issued case-by-case for clear coach-as-client situations.
FAQ
Will my clients see that I have a self-profile?
No. Other clients can't see your self-profile. Within your own roster, the profile appears with a Self tag for clarity.
Can another coach in my org see my self-profile?
Visibility depends on your role and Client Visibility settings, the same as any other client profile.
Can I have more than one self-profile?
No - each coach seat is eligible for exactly one self-profile. Additional profiles linked to the same coach email will count toward your billable client total.
