Notes are your private space in CoachRx to capture observations, reminders, and coaching decisions. They are only visible to you and other coaches in your organization, never to the client. Notes now come in two types: day notes and workout notes. Both live together in the Notes panel, and knowing which one to use keeps your notes clean and makes sure each one shows up where you expect.
ℹ️
Notes are only visible to coaches. To leave feedback your client can read on a session, use Comments on the workout instead of a note.
The two types of notes
Every note is attached either to a day or to a single workout. That one choice decides where the note appears.
Note type | Attached to | Where you add it | Best for |
Day note | A day on the client's calendar | The day itself, or the Add note button in the Notes panel | Context about the client or the whole day |
Workout note | One specific workout | The Note tab at the bottom of that workout | A cue tied to that exact session |
Day notes
A day note is attached to a date on the client's calendar. Add one from the day itself, or click Add note in the Notes panel. You can press Shift + N as a shortcut, and you can color-code notes to organize them however you like (the colors are for you and carry no fixed meaning).
Because a day note is tied to a date, it shows up wherever that date appears:
Client calendar: the day header shows a colored band with the note title, so you can spot it at a glance.
Coach dashboard feed: that day's workout card shows a colored header bar with the note, right above the client name and due date.
Workout notes
A workout note is tied to one specific session. When you are reviewing a workout at the bottom of a day, open the comments area and choose the Note tab, type your note, and click Save. A dot on the Note tab means that workout already has a saved note.
On the workout card, a note icon appears whenever the session has a note. Hover over it to read the note without opening the workout. The note stays attached to that specific workout.
Finding all your notes in one place
Open the Notes panel from the sidebar to see every note for a client in one list, both day notes and workout notes together. Each entry is labeled so you can tell them apart at a glance: workout notes read On workout - [date], while day notes show the [date] on their own. From here you can search your notes, edit them, or delete them. The panel header confirms these notes are only visible to coaches.
Which one should I use?
Context about the client or the whole day, or a reminder to yourself? Use a day note. It surfaces on the calendar and your dashboard feed for that date.
A cue specific to one session, like a weight to check or a movement to watch next time? Use a workout note. It stays with that exact workout.
Keeping this split clean keeps your calendar and dashboard readable, and you always know where to look.
