Progress photos: where clients and coaches see them

Where progress photos end up depending on how they were uploaded, what your client can see in the app, and how to compare photos on your side.

Progress photos can come from three different places in Coachway, depending on how they were uploaded. Here is how it works 👇

Where photos come from

Your client can add progress photos in three ways:

  1. Onboarding form. If your onboarding form has image fields, the client uploads photos when they first set up their account.

  2. Check-in form. If your check-in form has image fields, the client uploads photos as part of each check-in.

  3. Directly in the app. From Profile → Add measurement, scroll down and upload photos. No check-in needed. This is also where they can log weight and other measurements between check-ins. Remember, a client can only upload a photo if it is included in their check-in form.

You can set the image fields on your check-in form to Optional. Your clients then have the option to upload every week without being forced to.

What your client can see

Your client can see photos they uploaded in a check-in. They find them under Profile → Latest check-in → Check-in history. Each check-in opens with the photos and measurements they submitted that day.

-->

Photos uploaded in the onboarding form and outside a check-in are only visible to you.

What you can see

You see every photo your client has uploaded, from check-ins and Add measurement, on the client's profile. To compare two dates side by side, open the comparison view and select the dates you want.

To find all information uploaded from the client onboarding, go to Client --> Info --> Questionnaire.

A client wants to add photos to a check-in they already sent

A submitted check-in cannot be edited, so photos cannot be added to it afterwards. Ask the client to do one of the following instead:

  • Submit a new check-in from Profile → New check-in and upload the photos there (or the + symbol from the home app page).

  • Upload the photos via Profile → Add measurement.

&

Both end up in their history and on your side.

Uploading photos on a client's behalf

Not possible today. You can backdate weight and measurements from the client's Development page, but photos can only be uploaded by the client from the app. If you have a client's older photos, share them to their Vault so they are kept in one place.

Asking for photos on a regular basis

Add image fields to your check-in form under Forms → your check-in form. The change applies to all clients on that form from their next check-in. There is only one active check-in form per client, so if you want photos less often than the check-in cadence, keep the image fields optional and ask for photos in the chat when you need them.
