Campaigns vs Promotions: What’s the Difference?

In comarketing, there are two main ways to work with partners:
Campaigns and Promotions.

Which one you use depends on your goal:

  • Use Campaigns when you want to pay others to promote you.

  • Use Promotions when you want to get paid to promote others

Each one has different types you can set up depending on how you want to work together.

Campaigns (Comarketing Mode)

Campaigns are for people who want to grow their business by paying others for leads or conversions.

You can only create campaigns in Comarketing Mode. There are two types of campaigns:

1. Lead Campaigns

These let you pay your partner for every lead they send through your lead form, while choosing the payment structure:

  • Performance-Based: You pay per lead, based on your average deal value and conversion rate.

  • Subscription-Based: You pay a flat monthly fee for leads from your partner. Pricing is based on your average deal value, conversion rate, and how much business your partner expects to send you.

2. Conversion Campaigns

These let you pay for clicks or actions—like when someone clicks a link, fills out a form, or books a service.

You must install the tracking script and define your conversion pages inside the Tracking tab in Comarketing Mode before launching. Learn how to install tracking script and start conversion campaigns here!

📌 Important: You can only send a conversion campaign invitation from Comarketing Mode. If you’re in Earn Mode, you can accept one—but not create one.

Promotions (Earn Mode Only)

Promotions are for people who want to earn money by helping others grow or referring them business.

You can only start or join promotions in Earn Mode. There are two types of promotions:

1. Lead Promotions

  • Send leads using your partner’s lead form. You’ll get paid for each lead you send.

2. Conversion Promotions
