Integration with Calibrate

Learn how TVD integrates with Calibrate to compare targets between projects.

Video

Summary

  1. While working in Target Value Design, you can use the Calibrate solution to compare the target values to other projects. To start, click Calibrate versus other projects. This will activate the Calibrate solution within TVD.

  2. Next, click on Add compare to select the projects you want to add to the comparison.

  3. On top of this window, you can use the quick search bar, the classification filter, or any other filter to sort through the list of projects and easily find the ones you want to add. Click the checkbox next to the project's name, and then Save.

  4. You can see on the charts now a comparison between the target of the current project, and the targets of the projects you added to the comparison. Hover over the charts to see the numerical values.

  5. When you activate Calibrate in any solution in ConCntric, you will see the Normalization window.

  6. You can use this tool to bring the cost of projects you completed in the past to today's dollars, and to adjust for location or any other factor you want to add under custom factors.

  7. Instead of the basic normalization, you can activate any of your custom normalization.

  8. Custom normalization can be set up at the account level by going to the Cost Index Library in the Settings menu.

  9. Finally, from the TVD solution, when you click on any target, you will be redirected to Vision so you can do further analysis of the project estimate versus targets. In here, you can also activate the Calibrate solution just like you do within TVD.
