INTRODUCTION

Feature Summary: Add a player to a family.

Use Cases: System users can add a new person to an existing family. If the new member is a child, the system user can optionally grant them access to the member portal, allowing the child to log in independently to book courts and lessons.

PREREQUISITES

Know how to create a Family.

SETUP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Log in to the admin dashboard.

  2. Go to the side menu and click MEMBERS > FAMILIES. A new page displays.

  3. On the next page, locate the family in the table and click the row one time.

Scroll down the page and to the bottom table. Click the Family Members tab and then click the Add New Family Member button.

Fill in the required fields, set the Family Role (see below), and save the profile.

Most customers add a child to the Family plan by simply entering the child’s first and last name. This alone is sufficient for registering the child for club events.

If a child has login permissions enabled (i.e., Allow Child to Login is checked), then a system user must also enter an email address and password for that child so they can access the member portal.

Click the Family Role field and select an option.

If the family assigns a Child role, CourtReserve displays a login permission checkbox that is unchecked by default. Check this box to allow the child to log in to the member portal. Once enabled, the child can book courts and lessons.

USER PERSPECTIVE

In this scenario, the primary member has added a child to their family account, but the child cannot log in independently.

When booking a reservation, the primary member can choose who the reservation is for—either themselves or their linked child.

Here, the primary member is choosing their child as the participant for a lesson booking:

Note: Only the reservations and events that linked family members are eligible for will allow you to select the family member as the event registrant or reservation participant. For example, if an event has an age restriction of 18 or older, a child whose birthdate does not meet the requirement will not be able to register.
