  • Manage recurring programs like weekly clinics or seasonal socials

  • Control court and resource allocation for organized group activities

  • Track attendance, performance, and member engagement through reporting

What is an Event?

On CourtReserve, an event is an opportunity for players or members to participate in a planned activity. Each event has a specific time, place, category, and capacity. Individual players or members can register if they'd like to participate in an event. System users can register players on the admin dashboard as well.

Events can be on a single date or multiple dates. If an event takes place on multiple dates, the activity must occur at the same time on each day unless an individual event date is manually edited outside of the recurrence rules. System users can also create recurring events with custom dates and times.

What is the Difference Between an Event and a Reservation in CourtReserve?

An event is a pre-structured activity created by the organization—such as clinics, camps, leagues, or social mixers. System users define the courts, times, instructors, and registration limits, and players can sign up for those specific offerings.

  • Example: A club hosts Pickleball Open Play every Monday from 5–8 PM on Courts 1–3 with a 15-player limit. Players register for that exact setup.

Events are ideal when the club is organizing group-based programming and wants to manage participation centrally.

What is a Reservation?

A reservation is a member or admin booked time slot for a court, resource, or facility. Unlike events, members choose the date, time, and location based on availability.

  • Example: A player reserves Tennis Court #2 for a singles match at 10 AM next Saturday.

Reservations are flexible and self-directed, and are typically used for casual play, practice, or facility access.

When Should the Events Tool be Used?

Use the Events tool to create an activity that requires players or members to register online. Examples include:

  • Classes

  • Clinics

  • Round Robin Play

  • Social Gatherings
