What is Canvas?
When you ask Coworker to build something — a report, a dashboard, a presentation, a document — the result appears as an artifact in the Canvas panel alongside your chat. Artifacts are interactive, editable, and shareable.
Plain text artifacts can be created with Chat mode, while Build mode enables you to generate structured, visual deliverables.
Supported artifact types
Coworker can create several types of artifacts in Canvas:
Interactive Dashboard — A live, data-connected visual display. Ideal for KPI tiles, charts, and real-time views of your organizational data.
Slide Deck — A 16:9 presentation with multiple slides. Use this for pitches, all-hands decks, customer presentations, and more.
Document — A structured, multi-page written document. Great for reports, memos, briefs, and written analyses.
Brochure / PDF — A designed, visually rich document in portrait format. Best for one-pagers, datasheets, and polished customer-facing collateral.
Files — Coworker can also generate downloadable files (e.g., spreadsheets) that appear in the Files tab of the canvas panel. If no other canvas artifact is present, the Files tab opens automatically so you can export to Google Sheets or download directly.
Creating your first artifact
Open a chat and switch to Build mode using the toggle in the chat input bar.
Describe what you want to create. For example: "Create a slide deck summarizing our Q2 pipeline performance" or "Build a dashboard showing active deals by stage."
Coworker will generate the artifact and display it in the Canvas panel to the right of your chat.
Review the artifact. You can continue the conversation to refine, edit, or expand it.
Tip: You don't have to be in Build mode to get an artifact — Coworker will offer to switch you to Build when your request warrants it. You can also ask in Chat mode and then switch to iterate.
Viewing artifacts from past chats
Artifacts are saved to your chat history. You can reopen any chat that produced an artifact and the Canvas panel will restore it. Up to 8 artifacts per category are shown on the Coworker home screen for quick access.
