Coworker gives you two ways to capture your meetings: the Recorder and the Notetaker. Both deliver transcripts and Coworker-generated summary reports, but they differ in how they join your meetings and what they capture.

The Recorder
The Recorder (formerly known as the Notetaker bot) is a meeting bot that joins your call to capture the full meeting experience. It records video and audio, generates a transcript, and produces a Coworker summary report after the meeting ends.
What the Recorder captures
Full transcript with speaker identification
Coworker-generated summary report with key points and action items
Video and audio recording of the entire meeting
Email summary sent after the meeting concludes
Action items and searchable meeting history accessible in Coworker
Supported platforms
The Recorder works with Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
How it works
The Recorder joins your meeting as a participant bot. Someone in the meeting must admit it before recording begins. Once admitted, it captures everything and processes the transcript and summary after the meeting ends.
Sharing and permissions
You can configure who can access your recorded meetings:
Meeting invitees
Anyone at your organization
Public via shareable link
The Recorder is fully integrated into your Coworker workspace, similar to tools like Fathom, Fireflies, or Gong.
The Notetaker
The Notetaker runs on the Coworker desktop app in the background. It captures transcripts and generates summary reports without adding a bot to your meeting.
What the Notetaker captures
Full transcript with speaker identification
Coworker-generated summary report with key points and action items
Email summary sent after the meeting concludes
Action items and searchable meeting history accessible in Coworker
Supported platforms and meeting types
The Notetaker works with Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack Huddles, in-person meetings, and any other call or conversation you take on your computer.
How it works
The Notetaker runs seamlessly in the background through the Coworker desktop app. It does not join your meeting as a visible bot. Instead it captures audio locally and processes the transcript and summary after the meeting ends.
Privacy and sharing
Meetings captured by the Notetaker are private by default. Only you can see them initially. After the meeting you can choose to share the transcript and summary with others.
The Notetaker is comparable to Granola but fully integrated into your Coworker workspace, giving you direct access to your meeting history, action items, and organizational knowledge.
