The CPR Encompass Knowledge Base is a one-stop shop for all the documentation and information you will need to be a franchisee owner or an employee of a franchise. We will go over how to start using this tool and best practices along the way.

You can find the Knowledge Base browser by going to the left-hand menu > hovering over the "Light Bulb" icon > then clicking "Home."

Note: There may be menu options under "Home." These are quick-access Knowledge Base documents or links. Feel free to click any to be taken right to that item in the browser.

After clicking "Home" you will be taken to the main Knowledge Base page.

There are a few different file types that you will want to be aware of before you go too far. All of these are uploaded by CPR corporate.

📂 Folder - Folders are what hold all of the things in the knowledge base. (See below)

📄 Article - These types of files are written by corporate CPR admins within the knowledge base. (See below)

💻 Link - Links within the knowledge base can be linked to items within CPR Encompass or external site links. (See above)

💽 File (Photo, PDF, Excel, Etc.) - Files can be a multitude of types, from excels to photos.

The "Home" page has a few unique folders that can be helpful in finding documents quickly. The folders in red blocks display different Departments that allow you to easily find content in the Knowledge Base. Beneath, you will see additional folders:

  • Popular Content Folder - This folder will show what documents, links, or files are currently most popular on the knowledge base among all users from the past 30 days.

  • Recently Added or Updated Folder - This folder will show what documents, links, or files were the most recently added or updated by admins on the knowledge base.

  • Pinned Documents Folder - This folder will show what documents, links, or files were pinned by admins as important documents.

Browsing the Knowledge Base

There are two ways to browse documents, links, and more in the knowledge base.

1. If looking for something specific, you can use the search bar to find it. The search bar can be found at the top of every folder in the knowledge base. When you type in your search, click "Search" to the far right, and a new page will show your results. Note: The search bar will search the entire knowledge base regardless of your position within it.

The search bar will search the item name (all document types), the tag, the contents of the document, or the folder header.

It should also be mentioned that it will search by each individual word input. For example, searching Samsung Galaxy will show items that individually contain the word Galaxy and or Samsung. Note: Content in uploaded files is not included in the search.

If the item is within a folder or series of folders, the ‘breadcrumbs’ will be shown to give the context to where the item resides. It will also show when the content was last updated. Click on the item you wish to view.

2. If you don't know what you need exactly, you can search through the knowledge base at your own pace. It begins by clicking into the categorical folders. As you progress from folder to folder, you will have different files, links, and more to explore.

Sometimes, you will have the option to skip a step to the next item you want to see by clicking the items within the quick-view box.

If you lose your way or want to backtrack, utilize the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to go back to a previously clicked-on folder.

Once you find what you need, click on it! If it is an article, it will be shown in the knowledge base. If it is a link, you will be taken to that URL. If it is a file, it will be downloaded to your computer.

Message Board + Knowledge Base

When you are in an article specifically, towards the bottom, you will be able to see any discussions in the message board involving it. Each article will have a dedicated space to discuss questions or thoughts about the content.

Click on the "Discuss" button at the top right to begin or continue a discussion on an article.

Now that you know the important stuff, check out the knowledge base for yourself. We hope that this walkthrough will help you more easily access the information you need in the daily tasks of working or operating your CPR franchise.
