Welcome to the Crane app! This guide explains its main features to simplify your experience. You'll learn about the digital wallet, Auto-Convert, Rewards, and more. Let's get started.
How to use the Crane app
1. The wallet balance
It shows your balance in naira or dollars (depending on your preference).
2. The Receive, Convert, and Withdraw buttons
This tab sits below the wallet balance. Receive is for accepting crypto. Convert is for converting crypto to naira on Crane. Withdraw transfers money from your Crane digital naira wallet to your local bank account.
a). The Receive button
Crane provides three options for receiving cryptocurrency. They're listed below:
I. The Regular Crypto Deposit
It lets you accept payments in crypto, save the digital asset on the digital wallet, and convert it to naira at your convenience. It works like this: send wallet address to client > receive crypto/stablecoin > convert to naira > withdraw to a local bank account. This option works if you're familiar with the crypto market.
Follow the steps below to receive crypto with the regular crypto deposit:
Select the Receive option on the Crane app.
Choose the asset you want to receive: Binance Coins (BNB), Bitcoin (BTC), Doge (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), Tron (TRX), and USD Coin (USD).
Copy the wallet address and share it with your sender.
II. Bank Direct
This feature allows you to receive the naira equivalent of your crypto directly into your local bank account. It works like this: send wallet address to client >receive naira equivalent of the requested crypto in your local bank account. This feature is perfect for newbies, including freelancers in Nigeria, who don't want to interact with the crypto market.

b). The Convert button
Use the Convert button for crypto-to-naira conversions on Crane. The process works like this:
Select Convert on the homepage of the Crane app.
Choose the digital asset you want to convert.
Enter the asset value you want to convert and view the equivalent in your local currency. Use discount cards (if available) to enjoy 25%-100% off the conversion fee.
Confirm the value of the asset and the naira equivalent.
Input your unique 4-digit transaction PIN to finalise the conversion.
c). The Withdraw button
It transfers naira from your digital wallet to your local bank account. It works like this:
Tap Withdraw on the homepage of the Crane app
Add your bank details and the amount you want to withdraw.
Click Withdraw.
Alternatively, you can withdraw crypto from your naira wallet to your local bank account like this: click on Wallet on the homepage > choose ₦ Naira > select Withdraw > fill in the beneficiary details on the Withdraw Naira page > click on Withdraw.
3. Auto-Convert and Crypto Alert
Auto-Convert
What if you don't want to manually convert crypto? This is where our Auto-Convert feature comes in to automate crypto-to-naira conversions.
You can configure the conversion when the crypto exceeds or drops below a particular rate. The feature helps you avoid the volatility of the crypto market and prevent loss.
Follow the steps below to configure Auto-Convert on Crane:
Click on Auto-Convert on Crane's homepage
Click on Create New
Input the digital asset you want to convert, the conditions (auto-convert above or below the current rate), the rate amount, and the volume you want to convert.
Click Create order
Crypto Alert
Crypto Alert notifies you when a specific crypto reaches a desired price or sell rate. The feature keeps you updated with rate changes to make informed conversion decisions.
4. "Top gainers" and "Top losers" section
The section reveals the performance of digital assets in the market. The "Top gainers" assets experienced positive price changes, while the "Top losers" are assets with negative price changes. The data is updated daily.
5. Quick Actions
It shows the tabs for Airtime/Data and Invite & Win tabs. You can use your naira wallet or Crane Coins (CNC) for airtime recharge and data top-up.
Here's how to buy airtime on Crane:
Click on the Airtime/Data tab. Select the mode of payment (naira or CNC)
Enter the phone number and the airtime amount you want to buy
Click "Buy"
Here's how to perform data subscription on Crane:
Click on the Airtime/Data tab. Select the mode of payment (naira or CNC)
Enter the phone number and your preferred data plan
Click "Buy"
The Invite & Win is the referral tag on Crane. You'll get CNC for every transaction the person you refer completes. Follow the instructions here to share your referral tag with your friends.
6. Articles
It's the Cranepedia section. It contains blog posts about the crypto industry, the freelance community, and frequently asked questions about Crane.
7. The Reward tab
It lists the bonuses and rewards you've earned on Crane. It shows your available CNC, Experience Points (Xpts), and Leaderboard position.
