What are Item and Cue Block numbers?

Find out what Item and Cue Block numbers are and how they can be useful

Updated over a year ago

When viewing an Episode, whether in in Rundown view, Script view or both side-by-side, you will notice that Items and Cue Blocks are sequentially numbered. This numbering is to better identify the different Items and Cue blocks for the team working on the production, making it easier to call out or ask information for these Items or Cue Blocks. Numbering is automatically updated when Items or Cue Blocks are moved to a different position in the Episode.

Item numbers

Each Item that is added to an Episode will automatically be numbered in two ways:

  • A badge number: Each Item has a (colored) badge indicating the number of the Item in the Episode.

  • An Item index number: In front of each Item the same number can be seen as the Item index number.

Cue Block numbers

Each Cue Block that is added to an Item in an Episode will automatically receive an index number. This number is in the 'x.y' format, with 'x' representing the number of the Item that the Cue Block belongs to, and 'y' representing the sequential numbering of the Cue Blocks within the Item.

E.g.: the second Cue Block in the third Item would be indexed as 3.2.
