Before deleting a story

Have you considered archiving the story instead?

How to delete a story

To delete a story from your News Desk overview, locate the story you want to delete, then click the three vertical dots next to it. A dropdown menu will appear in which you can select 'Delete Story'.

Storiez will ask you to confirm this action โ€” make sure this is really what you want to do, then use the red button to confirm and proceed.

What Happens After Deleting a story?

After deletion, the story will move to the 'Deleted stories' section (trash can icon) in the bottom left corner of your News Desk.

Deleted stories become read-only. If you want to edit a deleted story, you must first restore it from the 'Deleted stories' section.

Managing story deletions across multiple 'Scheduled for' dates

When deleting a story, all 'scheduled for' dates associated with it will also be deleted, meaning the story will disappear from those dates as well.

To delete a story for a specific (scheduled) date:

  1. Open the story you want to delete

  2. In the 'Scheduled for' section of the story, locate the date you want to remove

  3. Click the 'x' next to the chosen date

This action will remove the story for that specific date, and it will disappear from the News Desk overview. The story will remain in place for the other scheduled dates.

How can I restore a deleted story?

To restore a deleted story, start by navigating to the News Desk. Go to the 'Deleted stories' section in the bottom left. Find the story you want to restore and click the red 'Restore' button that appears when hovering over a deleted story.

Additionally, if you deleted a story on a Wednesday (e.g., 18 September) with a 'priority' like 'Breaking', 'Actuals', etc, it will be restored to the News Desk with those same properties.
