Handling Failed Payments

Retry charges and update details to restore service.

Written by Libby

Cuttable uses Chargebee to manage billing and payments. If a payment fails, the system automatically retries and notifies you so you can resolve the issue quickly.

What happens when a payment fails

  • Cuttable uses Chargebee to process all subscription payments.

  • If a payment attempt fails (e.g., expired card, insufficient funds, or bank block), the system will automatically retry the payment over several days.

  • You’ll receive an email prompting you to update your payment details.

  • If the issue isn’t resolved after several retries, your subscription may be paused until payment is successful.

During this time, you’ll continue to have access to Cuttable, but if payment cannot be completed after retries, your account may be temporarily suspended until billing is updated.

How to fix a failed payment

  1. Go to Settings → Subscriptions.

  2. Click Open Account Management to access your billing portal.

  3. Under Payment Methods, update your card details or add a new card.

  4. Save changes. Chargebee will retry the payment automatically.

Notifications

  • You’ll receive an email notification if a payment fails, with a link to update your billing details.

  • Our system will also send reminders before access is affected.
