Summary
Connect Motion to Cuttable so Cuttable can find ad ideas from your Motion reports and suggest ads to make next.
Availability
The Connectors tab is available to every Cuttable account. Ad Suggestions, which is what Cuttable uses this data for, is an experimental feature and is off by default. To ask for it, start a chat with our support team from inside Cuttable.
What connecting Motion does
Connecting Motion lets Cuttable find ad ideas from your Motion reports. Cuttable reads your Motion creative performance, saved reports and brand insights, and uses them in Ad Suggestions. Cuttable only reads data from Motion, and will not edit anything in Motion.
How to connect Motion
Select your initials in the bottom left corner of the Cuttable screen.
Click Settings, then open the Connectors tab.
On the Motion card, select Connect.
Read the list of what Cuttable will be able to read, then select Continue to Motion.
Sign in to Motion in the new window and approve the access.
The Motion card shows Connected when the connection is finished.
What Cuttable reads from Motion
The Connect Motion screen names every read before you approve it. Cuttable reads which Motion workspace you are signed in to, your brand's profile in Motion, the competitors your workspace tracks, your ads' creative performance, performance by age and gender, a rundown of how one ad's creative performed, what is said and shown in your ads, the names Motion uses for your metrics and tags, and your saved reports.
Cuttable also reads Motion's inspiration directory: inspo creatives for brands you follow, background on brands in your inspiration list, Motion's brand directory, and a brand looked up by its website. That part is the same for every Motion customer.
FAQs
Nothing happened when I selected Connect.
The Motion sign-in opens in a new window, so your browser may have blocked it. Allow pop-ups for Cuttable, then select Connect again. Cuttable also shows a warning on the Connectors tab when a sign-in window is blocked.
The Motion card says Reconnect needed. What does that mean?
Reconnect needed means your Motion connection expired, and Cuttable stops reading Motion until you reconnect. Select Reconnect on the Motion card and sign in to Motion again.
The Motion card says Not responding. What does that mean?
Not responding means Cuttable could not reach Motion. This is usually temporary. Wait a few minutes, then select Reconnect.
How do I stop Cuttable using Motion?
Select Disconnect on the Motion card. A connection that is paused rather than disconnected shows Paused and keeps your sign-in saved, so you can select Enable to turn it back on.
Which Motion workspace does Cuttable read?
Cuttable reads the Motion workspace belonging to the login you sign in with. Sign in with a Motion login that has access to the workspace you want Cuttable to use. Cuttable never sees your Motion password.
