Why is my IBAN is rejected by the sender's bank?

Experiencing issues with your IBAN being rejected can be frustrating, but don't worry, there are a few common reasons this might happen. Let's break them down:

  1. Local Transfer Attempt with an IBAN: In certain countries, local transfers require just the national/local account number. Please ask the sender to give it a try by doing an international transfer. These usually require an IBAN, and that's all you will need. 🌐

  2. Incorrect IBAN Entry: With the mix of digits and letters in an IBAN, errors can easily creep in. A common mistake includes mixing up zeros with the letter "o" or inserting spaces where they don't belong. Double-checking the IBAN for accuracy can prevent these mishaps. 👀

  3. SEPA Transfers Unsupported: If the sender's bank doesn't facilitate SEPA transfers, they won't be able to process transactions to your IBAN, leading to rejection. 💶 🇪🇺

  4. Blocked IBANs by the Sender's Bank: Though rare and outside of our control, some banks may block transactions to IBANs associated with certain institutions, including Deblock. ❌
