Overview
Video avatars let your audience call you—face-to-face—through Delphi. When someone taps the “Video Call” button, they see and hear a real-time, lip-synced video replica of you instead of a static profile. This optional $999 add-on deepens trust and connection, but it’s still early-stage tech: picture quality and mouth sync may lag behind Delphi’s voice and chat features. Try a free demo first, then decide if a video presence fits your goals.
Why it matters
People build trust faster when they can look you in the eye. A video avatar lets users connect face-to-face, making guidance feel personal, live, and human—not transactional. Coaches, creators, and mentors sometimes see higher engagement and better follow-through when advice comes from a familiar face.
Quick Start Guide
Try a live demo. Open our CEO's Delphi and experience a real video avatar. Take note of the quality and whether you find it acceptable, or would rather wait until this technology is more developed.
Purchase the add-on. Click Purchase Video Avatar ($999 one-time) and finish checkout. Three avatar slots (i.e., three recordings) are included.
Review the prep checklist. Read the on-screen recording rules, confirm “I understand,” then select Continue.
Record your video. Capture a 4K or 1080p, landscape clip:
Start with “I give Delphi consent to use this video to create my avatar.”
Speak naturally for ~60 seconds, then sit still for ~60 seconds.
Upload the file. Drag-and-drop your .mp4 or .webm (≤ 750 MB) and click Continue.
Complete the compliance checklist. Tick every box to confirm lighting, framing, consent, and file specs.
Wait for approval. Delphi reviews, trains, and activates the avatar. You’ll get notified when it’s ready.

Recording Requirements
Recording Requirements
Single biggest tip
Our only goal is to record clean lip shapes. Sit still, keep your hands out of frame, and avoid nodding or turning. If anything moves, the avatar can’t sync.
Basic instructions: Speak for ~60 seconds, then stay silent for ~60 seconds—one continuous take.
Before you press record
Pick a still background (i.e., no movement) that contrasts with your clothing. Do not use green screens.
Mount the camera at eye level; lock it in place. Your face should be centered and fill at least 25% of the screen.
Avoid bluetooth headphones and do not use video call apps (e.g., Zoom).
Light your face evenly; avoid shadows.
Silence the room.
While recording
Start with the consent line, then speak naturally for 1 minute, and finish sitting silently for 1 minute.
Stay motionless: no gestures, no nods, no fidgets, no hand movements.
Pause every couple of sentences and close your mouth. This teaches your avatar what you look like when you finish words.
Keep a slight smile, it'll make your avatar appear friendlier. But avoid yawning, bursts of laughter, or other exaggerated emotions.
Avatar Management
Avatar Management
Once you finish training one video avatar, the Generate · Avatars · History tabs appear.
In the Generate tab you can:
Type a script. Enter up to 5000 characters—just like the Voice Playground.
Press Generate. A sidebar appears with a time-stamped preview.
Download the clip. Save the .mp4 for email, social, or presentations.
Click Copy share link to send a URL so others can see the video.
In the Avatars tab you can:
Switch on the fly. If you have multiple avatars, click an avatar and press Make Active; your Delphi will then use that video replica for calls and messages.
Preview instantly. Hit Play to check a sample before activating.
Pop out picture-in-picture. Dock the preview in a corner and drag it anywhere.
See connection status. Green Connected marks the active avatar; gray Not Connected means idle. You can only have one replica connected at a time.
Upload more. Tap New Avatar to add another clip. Your plan includes three slots; extras cost $50 each.
In the History tab you can:
Browse every clip you've generated from the Generate tab. Scroll a chronological list of past generations.
Replay or re-download. Click any entry to view, grab, or share again.
Iterate fast. Hit Iterate Script, tweak wording, and regenerate without starting from scratch.
Click Copy share link to send a URL so others can see the video.
Clean up. Delete older videos to stay organized; storage is unlimited, but clarity matters.

Recording Environment
Choose a calm, clutter-free background, balance light on both cheeks, and set the camera at eye level. Doing so keeps attention on your lips and prevents the AI from fighting shadows or distractions.

Personal Presentation
Personal Presentation
Look polished but relaxed so people focus on your words and expressions.
Show your neck. Choose tops without high collars or scarves.
Skip accessories. Remove hats, glasses, and large earrings.
Hold a gentle smile. A friendly expression feels welcoming on screen.
Frame your face. Sit close enough that it fills about 25 % of the view.
Hide your hands. Rest them in your lap and keep them off-camera.

Why is my video avatar low quality?
Why is my video avatar low quality?
Your avatar’s clarity rests on two things: today’s still-evolving video tech and the quality of your recording.
Know the limits. Real-time video replication is brand-new, so a little weirdness is normal—that’s why we encourage a demo first.
Strengthen the source. Simple tweaks—steady camera, softer light, staying perfectly still—can lift sharpness fast. Re-record using every step in our Recording Requirements and you’ll see a real improvement.
