Your License Is Tied to Your Computer Name

Fire Studio 7 licenses are locked to the computer where they are first activated. This protection system helps ensure that your license can only be used on the computer it was originally installed on.

One of the key identifiers used during activation is your computer name.

Important Note About Changing Computer Names

If you change your computer name after Fire Studio 7 has already been activated, the license validation will likely fail. When that happens, Fire Studio will consider the license invalid on that computer, and you will no longer be able to use the software until it is reset.

What To Do If Your License Becomes Invalid

If you have changed your computer name (or if IT has renamed it for you) and your license no longer works, please contact Digital Combustion Support. We will reset the license for you on our end so you can reactivate Fire Studio on your system.

Best Practice Going Forward

To avoid license issues, we strongly recommend keeping your computer name the same once Fire Studio has been activated. This will minimize disruptions and reduce the need to contact support for a license reset.
