How to customize the words used in your portal?

This tutorial will guide you through the process of customizing the words used in your Dokeos portal to better match your specific terminology.

Make sure you are logged in as an administrator before starting.

1. Access the word customization page

  • Log in to the Portal: Sign in to your Dokeos portal using an administrator account.

  • Access the Settings: In the left sidebar menu, click on "Settings".

  • Open the Customization Section: Select "Personalization" in the Settings menu.

  • Go to the Customized Words Tab: Click on the "Wording" tab to start the customization process.

2. Select the language to customize

Choose the Language:

  • Select the language in which you want to modify the words.

3. Modify the words

Change the words:

You can customize the following terms:

  • Trainer

  • Learner

  • Course

  • Module

  • Learning Path

  • Groups

Replace the words:

  • In the "Custom Text" section, replace the existing words with the ones of your choice for each term.

Save the changes:

  • Click "Save" to apply the modifications.

Example: This feature allows you to customize your portal using industry-specific terms. For instance, "Learner" can be replaced with "Employee" or "Trainee", while "Group" can be changed to "Agency", "Office", or "Team". This way, you can adapt the portal’s vocabulary to better reflect the technical terms and jargon used in your organization.
