Setting production ranges

Updated today

Production ranges are groupings of products that are allocated to a site and then available for production, or to be requested from a Hub.

Products are the finished items which you sell, for example a ham and cheese sandwich would be a product.

Setting up a new production range

Create a range

In the sidebar head to Production > Production Ranges and click 'Actions' then ‘Create New Range’.

Name your range then click 'Save Changes'

This range will then appear as a new tab option within your existing production ranges.

Assign products to the range

Within the Production Ranges page click 'Actions' and 'Assign Products to Ranges'.

You will be taken to a table which lists every product you are able to assign to a production range.

There will be a column for each range you have setup. Use the tickboxes to assign a product to a range. This will auto-save. When you're done just click the back arrow.

Please be aware, a product has to have Count in stocktake ticked on the recipe for it to be available to add to a production range. You can learn more about required recipe settings here

Assign the range to a site and day

Next you can set which sites this range should apply to, and if required, what days the range applies to. You may have a different range on a weekend for example.

Within the Production Ranges page click 'Actions' and 'Assign Sites to Ranges'.

Allocating by day of the week

Select the 'Day' tab.

Find the site you would like to set the production ranges from the list or select the site in the 'Options' dropdown.

Underneath each day of the week use the dropdown to select the range you would like to be available to the store. This will save automatically.

Allocating by range

Alternatively select the ‘Range’ tab, from here you can assign the days of the week to a range.

Find the site you would like to set the production ranges from the list or select to the site in the 'Options' dropdown.

Underneath each range option click the day you would like this range to apply to. This will save automatically.

Allocating in bulk

If a site has the same range for multiple days of the week rather than setting this one by one you can group the days together.

Select the 'Day' tab. In the 'Options' dropdown select to the site(s) you would like to assign ranges to.

In the ‘Group days’ dropdown select the days you’d like to group. For example, if the site has the same range Mon-Thurs you would select Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

You can select the range you would like to assign to these grouped days. This will save automatically.

Production Tags

Setting a products tag

When setting up a product range you can set 'Selection Tags'.

Production Tags are informational tags for users to understand the products in each of the ranges.

The tags you are able to set are:

  • Breakfast

  • Opening

  • Morning

  • Closing

  • Flexible

  • Must Stock

If a product has the 'Closing' tag set this will appear in the required closing range when setting a Variable Production.

Production Ranges FAQs

Am I trying to add a product to a range but I cannot find it in the list

If you cannot see a product when assign products to a range this will be because 'count in stocktake' is not selected on the recipe. Once this is set at a recipe level you'll be able to assign the product to a range.

I have assigned a product to a range but it is not showing in the Production Planner

If a product is in a range but is not available for the site to produce this could be because the production visibility is not set correctly. Go to Production > Product List - this list shows you the available products for a site per the ranges set.

Find the product that is not showing in the production planner and in the 'Production Visibility' column ensure all productions have a green tick. If they do not, click the arrow to the lefthand side. This will take you to the recipe where you can select the productions.
