How to assign and check homework on Edvibe

Updated over a year ago

How to find homework in the virtual classroom?

In the virtual classroom, with a student or a group, go to the "Homework" tab:

How to add an exercise to the homework?

Click on the three dots above the exercise, and select "Add to homework":

You can use a checkmark to select and add multiple exercises to the homework section:

After that, you will see a system notification confirming the successful addition of exercises to the Homework section:

Note: When you add an exercise from the Lesson section to the Homework section, it will still be displayed in the lesson. And if a student completes this exercise as homework, the answers will be visible both in the lesson and vice versa.

The student will see the added homework in their personal account:

Exercises for homework section

The exercises intended for homework can be stored in the "Exercises for homework" section. It is important to note that only you, as the teacher, have access to this section. Students cannot view or access the contents stored within the "Exercises for homework" section.

You have the option to assign homework to a student from this section in the same manner as you would for the main lesson section. When you add exercises as homework, they become visible and appear in the Homework tab for the student. This allows them to access and complete the assigned exercises.

How to create a new exercise for homework?

Go to the "Homework" tab and click on the button to add a new exercise:

A menu with a list of templates will appear. Choose the desired template and create the exercise. We explained how to select a template and create an exercise based on it here.

Homework statuses

Once the student receives the homework, they will see it in the "New" status in the virtual classroom:

After completing the homework, the student submits it for review by the teacher:

Homework submitted for review by the teacher will be in the "Pending" status, and the student will see it like this:

The teacher will receive a notification, and visual elements will appear in their account indicating that homework needs to be checked:

After receiving such notification, the teacher needs to enter the student's or group's virtual classroom, find all the assignments with the corresponding notification, and check them. Then, change the status to "Complete" or "Submit for review". The student will receive notifications about the change in the homework status. If the student has completed the task, click the "Complete" button:

If the student needs to revise the completed homework, click "Submit for review":

Let's focus on how to send homework back to the student for revision.

How to send homework back for revision?

If the student has completed some exercises correctly, click on the three dots next to the exercise and select "Mark as done":

You can select multiple exercises this way:

Don't mark the exercises you want to send back for revision. Click submit for review as demonstrated in previous step. The student will see a color notification in their personal account indicating that the assignment has been sent back for correction:

In the virtual classroom, in the Homework tab, the student selects the homework that needs to be edited and sees part of the exercises with a green background, indicating that the teacher has marked them as completed, and part with a white background, indicating that they need to be revised:

You can send the homework back for revision multiple times until the student completes it correctly. After that, change the homework status to "Completed".
