What is needed to add a brand?
Integrating with electric or hybrid vehicles requires a proper legal and technical basis. As a first step, we need to put in a lot of effort to negotiate legal agreements with the OEMs (car manufacturers). Once that is done, a technical implementation is required. To offer our users a good user experience, we set our standards high! 👨💻 This means:
Offering an easy, secure authentication process
Having reliable and up-to-date data synchronization
Ensuring all needed datapoints are available and accurate
In many cases, the car manufacturer does not have the existing technical infrastructure (API's/Sockets/WebHooks) in place. Or the available integrations are of low quality or reliability. In the worst cases, certain crucial datapoints are missing. For example, we can not accurately calculate the charging costs if the vehicle does not send us the battery's energy consumption in kWh. 😩
This procedure is complex and unfortunately takes a lot of time.
Which brands will be coming soon?
There is an immense variety of EV's on the market! 🌏 We monitor the trends and analyse the requests from our business customers and app users. The voting tool ('Add me'-button when searching for a brand) in the app is an important metric to assess the demand for a certain brand. 📊
Based on this input, we have set our priority of top brands. We can not guarantee these brands will be supported (soon) or in what order. 🚗 Anyways:
Geely Group (Volvo, Polestar, ...)
Hyundai Motors Group (Hyundai, Kia, ...)
And many more...
