The ticket transfer feature in Evey allows attendees to update the ticket holder’s name and email. Once transferred, the ticket becomes invalid for the original owner, and a new ticket email is sent to the updated email address.
If a ticket is transferred to an invalid or misspelled email address, the attendee cannot undo the action themselves. However, you can correct the email in the Evey admin and resend the ticket.
Understanding the Ticket Transfer Process
When a ticket is purchased, the attendee receives a ticket notification email with a “View your ticket” link.
This link opens the ticket page, which displays attendee details, event name, and ticket type.
To transfer the ticket, the attendee edits the First Name, Last Name, and Email, then clicks “Transfer Ticket.”
Once transferred, the ticket becomes invalid, and the system shows the transfer details (recipient email and transfer date).
The new ticket email is automatically sent to the updated email address.
Fixing a Ticket Transferred to an Invalid Email
Request the correct name and email address from the attendee.
Go to the event in Evey and click “Attendees.”
Search for the transferred ticket using the updated attendee details.
Click the attendee’s name to open their details.
Update the Email field with the correct address.
Click “Save,” then click “Re-send ticket.”
Ask the attendee to confirm that they received the re-sent ticket and that the information is correct.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage situations where a ticket has been unintentionally transferred to an invalid email address. This proactive approach ensures attendees have a seamless and enjoyable event experience.
