Handling Ticket Transfers to Invalid Email Addresses
Updated over 5 months ago

One of the valuable features of the Evey app is the ticket transfer functionality. This feature empowers attendees to transfer purchased tickets to friends and loved ones ensuring flexibility and convenience in event attendance. Whether it's surprising a loved one with a concert ticket or facilitating a ticket sale due to a scheduling conflict, ticket transfer plays a vital role.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to handle situations where a ticket has been inadvertently transferred to an invalid email address:

Understanding the Ticket Transfer Process

When an attendee purchases a ticket, they receive a ticket notification email containing a link to access their ticket.

Clicking the "View your ticket" link directs them to their ticket page, displaying attendee details like name, email address or phone number, event name, and ticket type.

To transfer the ticket, they can modify the First Name, Last Name, and Email address on the ticket and then click on "Transfer Ticket."

Once they click on “Transfer Ticket,” it will show that the ticket has been transferred and that it is no longer valid. It will also show the email address where it was transferred to and the date that it was transferred.

Once the ticket is transferred, the same ticket email will be sent to the email address that it was transferred to.

Addressing Ticket Transfer to an Invalid Email Address

In cases where an attendee informs you that the ticket was transferred to an incorrect or invalid email address (e.g., misspelled email), follow these steps to rectify the situation:

Remember that once they click on “Transfer Ticket” it will only show that it has been transferred and is no longer valid. They won’t have the option to undo or change this.

1. Gather Correct Information
Request the correct name and email address of the attendee who reported the issue.

2. Access Attendees List:

Navigate to the event and click on "Attendees" to access the list of event attendees.

3. Locate Transferred Ticket:

Identify the attendee to whom the ticket was transferred by searching for the updated attendee details, considering the modified name and email address.

4. Update Email Address:

Click on the attendee's name to view the attendee details. Update the email field with the correct email address provided by the attendee.

5. Save Changes and Re-send Ticket:

Scroll down, and click "Save" to ensure the updated details are saved. Subsequently, select "Re-send ticket" to send the updated ticket to the correct email address.

Ensure the attendee confirms the successful receipt of the re-sent ticket and the accuracy of the information.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage situations where a ticket has been unintentionally transferred to an invalid email address. This proactive approach ensures attendees have a seamless and enjoyable event experience.
