Connect Google Calendar to see task due dates on your calendar, and calendar events on your Examply Timeline. Sync runs both ways, so changes in either app show up in the other within a few minutes.
This is helpful when your day is split between meetings and task work: instead of checking two apps to plan your day, your Examply due dates sit alongside everything else on your calendar, and calendar events you already have, like a client review, appear on the project Timeline so the whole team can plan around them.
Note: Google Calendar sync requires a Starter plan or higher. Each teammate connects their own Google account individually.
Connecting your calendar
Go to Personal settings → Integrations → Google Calendar.
Click Connect and sign in with your Google account.
Grant Examply permission to read and write calendar events.
Choose which calendar to sync to. Examply creates a dedicated calendar named Examply tasks by default, or you can pick an existing one.
What syncs
In Examply | In Google Calendar |
Tasks with a due date | Appear as all-day or timed events |
Tasks assigned to you | Only your own tasks sync, not the whole team's |
Completed tasks | Removed from the calendar within a few minutes |
Milestones | Appear as events on their due date |
Tasks without a due date never appear on the calendar. If you set a due time as well as a date, using ⇧D to open the date picker, the calendar event reflects that specific time instead of showing as all-day.
Choosing which projects sync
Go to Personal settings → Integrations → Google Calendar.
Under Synced projects, select or clear individual projects.
Changes apply the next time sync runs, usually within a few minutes.
Turning off sync for a project doesn't remove events that already synced. Delete them from Google Calendar directly, or mark the underlying tasks complete so they clear on the next sync.
Working across time zones
Examply stores due dates in the time zone of whoever set them, and Google Calendar displays every event in your own device's time zone. If a task's due date looks off by a few hours after syncing, check the due time rather than the due date. It's almost always a time zone conversion, not a sync error.
Troubleshooting
If events stop appearing, check that your Google account session hasn't expired, then reconnect from Personal settings → Integrations → Google Calendar. Deleting the Examply tasks calendar in Google Calendar doesn't disconnect the integration; it recreates the calendar on the next sync. To stop syncing entirely, disconnect the integration instead of deleting the calendar.
