Mobile apps for iOS and Android

Install the Examply mobile app, work on the go, and know what's different from desktop.

The Examply mobile app keeps your tasks, timers, and notifications with you between meetings. It covers most of what you'd do at your desk, with a couple of intentional simplifications for a smaller screen.

Team planning work at a desk with sticky notes and a laptop

Installing the app

  1. On iOS, download Examply from the App Store. On Android, download it from Google Play.

  2. Open the app and enter your workspace URL.

  3. Sign in with your Examply credentials, or with SSO if your workspace uses SAML.

  4. Allow push notifications so you don't miss @mentions and due dates.

System requirements

Platform

Minimum version

iOS

iOS 16

Android

Android 10

If your phone or tablet is running an older version, the app will still install on some devices but Examply doesn't test against it, so expect occasional rendering issues in Board view.

What you can do from mobile

  • Create, assign, and comment on tasks

  • Start and stop timers — a persistent notification keeps a running timer visible even when you switch apps

  • Browse Board and List views for any project you have access to

  • Get push notifications for @mentions, due dates, and timesheet approvals

Note: Timeline and Calendar views are read-only on mobile. Switch to the browser or desktop app to reschedule work by dragging dates.

Working offline

The mobile app caches your most recent tasks and lets you view them without a connection. Comments and status changes you make offline queue up and sync automatically once you're back online. Starting a new timer requires a connection, since it needs to record the start time against your workspace.

Notifications

You can tune notification types separately from your device's system settings, inside the app itself:

  1. Open the profile tab and go to Notifications.

  2. Choose which events push a notification: @mentions, due dates, assignments, and timesheet approvals are each toggled independently.

  3. Set quiet hours if you don't want push notifications outside working hours — Examply queues them and delivers a summary when quiet hours end.

Securing the app on your device

If your workspace is on the Enterprise plan, an admin can require Face ID, Touch ID, or a device PIN to open the Examply app, even if your phone itself is already unlocked. This is separate from your Examply password and only affects the mobile app.

Tips

  • Add the Examply widget to your home screen for a one-tap timer start.

  • Switch workspaces from the profile tab if you belong to more than one.

  • Sign out remotely from any device under workspace settings if you lose your phone.
