Push notifications are a great way to connect with your fans by delivering important, time-sensitive messages directly to their mobile devices.
Using push notifications is a fantastic means of driving engagement, creating excitement and increasing app usage.
Here's how to create one:
Step 1.
Along the left-hand-side toggles, you will come across 'Push Notifications' below 'Content.' Hover over the icon and click, then you will have an option to either click 'Send' or 'History.'
Step 2.
To begin the process of creating a Push Notification, click 'Send'
Step 3. Compose
The first section allows you to compose your notification. In the Notification message box, you have 100 characters to write what the content of the notification will be.
It must be noted that the Notification Title cannot be changed from the name of your club.
Once you have written your chosen message, the 'next' icon in the bottom right will become available to click.
Step 4. Target
Once you have clicked 'next', you will arrive at the Target section which allows you to select who you want to send the message to, with there being three options available.
If you want to send the notification to all subscribers who follow the club and have opted in to receive marketing and news, select the first option.
If you would like to choose a specific group, select the filter audience option. This will then allow you to choose if you would like the notification to be sent to season ticket holders or non-season ticket holders.
Below the filter, you will see the number of fans who will receive the notification next to the 'Estimated audience size' line.
Step 5. Review and Send
Once you have composed your message and chosen your target audience, the final section will allow you to check over your push notification before you send it.
If, upon review, you want to change anything about your message or the audience, at this stage you can simply click back on the process either by using the 'previous' button or clicking on the heading you want to go back to (i.e. 1. Compose or 2. Target).
Once ready to send, click the 'Send notifications to fans' and the notification will be pushed!
ℹ️ It's worth remembering that the current limit for sending push notifications with Fanbase community is 5 per week and there is a cool-off period of 5 minutes after you send a notification.
