How to Check Client's Priority Date Eligibility?

What is Priority Date? How to use priority date?

Updated over 2 years ago

The priority date is a crucial factor when filing an immigration case, such as a visa application or green card petition. It determines whether a case can be submitted for processing or not.

If the priority date is eligible, it means the case has reached the required date to proceed with the filing. On the other hand, if the priority date is not yet current, the case cannot be submitted at that time. The priority date is ineligible.

If the priority date is eligible and you've already filed the date, you can set it to filed status.

Here's how to use a priority date:

From Client's Profile

  2. Fill in all the necessary details for the priority date.

  3. Click the "Add" button.

Remember to ensure that the client has an active case before creating the priority date.

  5. If your client's priority date is eligible and the case has already been filed, you can set the status to "Filed" by clicking the more options icon and then selecting "Filed."

To check if a priority date is eligible for filing, you can refer to the visa bulletin, which provides essential information on current priority dates and filing availability. Visa Bulletin will be published by the FastVisa team every month based on updates from the USCIS government.
