Android: asks to Pair every connection

Android repeated pairing prompts

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Your Fieldy can work without Pairing!

Fieldy with firmware 2.4.0 and above can work without Pairing. Pairing is only required for Offline Storage, so you're data in it would be safe. To keep using Fieldy without pairing in Android, you need to disable Offline Storage in your Device Sheet. Though if you still want to try to get it paired, continue following this article.

Symptoms

  • Android keeps asking you to “Pair” with the Fieldy device repeatedly.

  • You already paired successfully, but the prompt returns the same day.

  • The device connects, but pairing popups keep interrupting.

Why this happens

Some Android phones trigger repeated pairing prompts when the BLE connection is restarted frequently (often due to Bluetooth service stops). If the service gets stopped whenever the device “disappears” momentarily, Android may treat the next connection attempt like a fresh pairing flow.

Fix (recommended)

  1. Open Fieldy.

  2. Go to Fieldy Settings → Bluetooth Connectivity.

  3. Turn OFF Stop service when device disappears.
