A worker didn't turn up

What to do if a booked worker doesn't arrive for a shift.

Written by Stephen Paul

Call us straight away on 647-247-4916. Don't wait to see if they turn up late, because the sooner we know, the sooner we can find you a replacement.

Tell us the location, the shift date and time, and who was booked. We'll try to reach the worker and start looking for cover at the same time.

Don't approve a timesheet for a shift that wasn't worked. If a timesheet appears for it, reject it. Remember that timesheets approve themselves after 7 days if nobody touches them, so a no-show left alone could end up billed to you. Rejecting it is what stops that.

We take no-shows seriously. They are recorded against the worker's account and affect their reliability rating, and we review accounts where it happens repeatedly.

If the worker did arrive but very late or left early, don't reject the timesheet outright. Reject it if the hours are wrong and tell us what actually happened, so the worker is paid for the time they did work and you're billed for that and no more.

If this keeps happening at one of your locations, tell us. It's often a sign of something we can fix, such as unclear directions, parking, or an entrance that's hard to find at night.
