Use the ABEV List export style to add Absentee Ballot and Early Vote (ABEV) records into a voter list for a selected election with the Basic Counts and Advanced Counts data tools.
About Absentee Ballot and Early Vote (ABEV) Records
At least thirty days before election day, absentee ballot and early vote records are collected from state, county, and local jurisdictions. ABEV records generally provide dates for Ballot Requests, Sent Ballots, Returned Ballots, and Early Votes as well as ballot properties including Military, Overseas, or Federal ballot types. Some ABEV information may not be provided with the jurisdiction's voter data.
The state database includes absentee ballot records for upcoming and past elections. Use the Absentee Ballot Report to view ABEV statistics for ballot activity, voter information, and ballot types by selected jurisdictions. Vote History for the election will updated into the database after election results have been certified and provided in the voter data.
Step 1: Create a Voter List
Absentee data may be added into Advanced Counts selections from Voter Frequency > Absentee. Other criteria including Voter information, Vote History, Tags, and Absentee Status may be added as filters for refining count results.
Excluding current voters
To set up a voter list that excludes voters who have already returned a ballot or cast an early vote for an upcoming election, use the "Not Equals" connector in an Advanced Counts selection.
Step 2: Set up the Export File
Preview your count results and select Export Count (Basic Counts) or Export File (Advanced Counts) to load the Export Options page. Select ABEV List from the List Style options.
Select an election from the drop-down menu to add absentee/early vote records
Vote History may be appended as separate columns for selected elections
Step 3: Choose Household and Sorting Options
By default, Individual Voters will be exported into the voter list, sorted by Precinct. Choose other Household and Sort options as necessary for your list.
Step 4: Export and Download the Voter List
Name your file if needed and choose the appropriate export file format:
CSV: Comma-separated values text file. CSV files have no row or column limit, and they can be opened into a spreadsheet application or imported into a database table.
XLSX: file format for Microsoft Excel 2007 and later, with a worksheet limit of 1,048,576 rows.
XLS: original file format for Microsoft Excel, with a worksheet limit of 65,536 rows.
MDB: database file format for Microsoft Access.
Select Export Data Now to submit your request to the Export Queue. Go to My Data > My Exports to view progress and to download or share your exported file when completed.
