Introduction

The Session product format is a perfect way to offer coaching services to members on your platform. Rather than selling on-demand products (such as courses, downloadables, and videos), you can have members pay you for coaching, consulting, or advising.

During the past few years, we've seen many creators build successful coaching offers on Forento. Some of the trending services we've noticed are:

  • Career Development Coaching

  • Website/pitch-deck/social media feed review calls

  • Course Creation Coaching

  • Personal Branding calls

How does it work?

The Session feature is built in a way where you can decide how members book their sessions and where they take place. There is no built-in calendar or video conferencing tool, so you can use your favorite tools, based on your business and preferences.

Some creators use calendar software such as Calendly (https://calendly.com/ not associated or partnered with Forento) or TidyCal (https://tidycal.com/ not associated or partnered with Forento) to have their members be able to easily book a time that works for them.

Other creators rely on manually finding times that work with each customer of their Session products. For example, you can have the redemption instructions as "Message me and we'll find a time that works" or similar.

How to create a Session

To create a session, you must first go to https://app.forento.io/sessions and click "Create new".

Once you've done this, you'll be able to enter details for your Session product.

The information you must add for your Session is a Title, Short description, Description, Price, Redemption instructions, and Redemption link.

Title: A fitting name for your Session

Short description: A short description where you can summarize the value of the Session product in a sentence or two.

Description: Longer than the short description, and accepts text edits such as bullet point lists, bold, italics, and more.

Price: A fixed price for your session product, set to your platform's selected currency. Here is a full guide on how to change your platform currency: πŸ’Έ Changing the currency of your platform

Sessions require a set price above $0. If you’d like to offer a free session, there’s no need for the feature. You can share the session information (such as your Calendly link, for example) in a community post, course page, or anywhere else where qualified visitors would engage.

Redemption instructions: Instructions for your customers on how they can claim, redeem, or scheduele their session with you.

Redemption link: Any relevant link to your calendar or video conferencing tool of choice.

End result: Shown with the Modern platform theme and platform customization.
