⚙️ General Sync Behavior

  • Can calendar events made by users not onboarded to Gable be synced?
    Yes. These users will have a Gable profile created automatically, with the Welcome email suppressed.

  • Are on-demand or overnight bookings supported?
    No — neither on-demand nor overnight bookings are supported. Overnight reservations must be split across calendar days.

  • Are repeating bookings supported?
    Yes — recurring Google events sync into Gable as separate bookings.

  • Does 2-Way Sync respect Gable booking rules?
    No — Google-created events bypass Gable booking rules (like room restrictions).


🔧 Technical Details

  • Multi-resource bookings
    Only one booking is created in Gable, tied to the first accepted resource.

  • Sync timeframe
    Recommended settings are 0 days past and 60-90 days future.

  • Sync refresh
    Updates weekly to maintain a rolling window.

  • Non-standard times (e.g., 10:12–1:51)
    Gable respects Google’s times, but new Gable bookings can only start/end on 30-minute intervals.


🔐 Permissions & Resources

  • What if permissions are revoked?
    Sync will stop. Gable logs flag the issue, and our team will reach out.

  • What happens if I delete a space in Gable?
    The associated sync pair is removed, and cleanup follows the deactivation process.

  • What happens if I delete a resource in Google Calendar?
    The sync pair remains in Gable, but no future changes sync.

  • What if resource pairing fails during setup?
    Usually permissions-related. Remove the sync pair, retry, or contact support.


⛔ Compatibility & Limits

  • Can we use 1-Way and 2-Way at the same time?
    No — only one method can be active.

  • Can we integrate with Microsoft and Google (or multiple Google tenants)?
    No — only one provider/tenant at a time.

  • Subscription required?
    2-Way Sync is available to companies with Company Office enabled in their subscription.

  • Race conditions (simultaneous booking requests)?
    Only one event is accepted by the resource; the other is rejected.


👥 User Rules

  • Non-calendar users booking synced spaces
    Not supported. All bookings must be made by licensed users with active calendars.

  • Booking via group calendars
    Not supported — events must be created by a single, licensed user.

  • Creating events directly as a room calendar
    Not supported — the event must come from a user calendar, with the room added.


🔔 Integrations & Notifications

  • Do Google-side integrations still work?
    Yes, for bookings created in Google. Gable-initiated bookings won’t trigger them.

  • Do Gable check-ins count as Zoom Room check-ins?
    No — this requires a separate Zoom integration.

  • Will Gable still send check-in notifications?
    Yes — Gable continues to send its standard notifications.
